Roleplaying Low Int. Suggestions?

Erm...yeah, that's why I wasn't a math major and stayed with history and german.

When I grow up, I want to go to Bovine University!

Ok, so she'd still have a -1, but that's a heckuvalot better than -2.

In lieu of that and if you're not playing the stereotypic chain mail bikini babe, lower that CHR to 9 and bump up your INT by two then increase your INT again at level 4.

Hmm, that's a bit min/maxing...but it works. I personally wouldn't do it since inevitably your character will rely on the fact that you have a zero modifier to her CHR.

Food for thought.

I don't like the idea of reconstructing people from stats...

You might try this from another perspective. Rather than trying to build your character up from the stats, look for someone you know who you think has similar abilities. Forest Gump could work, except that he was exceptionally charismatic.

Surely you know someone who's pretty dumb. Pick up on their real-life mannerisms. If you want the character to have some depth, start off with well-developed examples (NOT Mr. Gump; real people are much better for this) Be careful about making a caricature out of them. It's funny for a while, but it can get pretty tiresome.
