Romanesque world setting?

GURPS Fantasy (by Steve Jackson Games) has a big chapter with a "fantasy version" of the Roman Empire - it is set on a "parallel world" with active gods, spirits, and powerful sorcerers. Oh, and dinosaurs from subterranean caves below Mount Etna.

The OD&D Dawn of the Emperors box set I'd highly recommend, it's by Aaron Alllston & it gave me years of exciting gameplay as Thyatis (Rome) and Alphatia (magical eastern Empire, filling the Parthia/Persia role) faced off in a titanic Clash of Civilisations.

Well if you're going to dive into non-d20 material, I would recommend Fulminata above "roma imperious".. the former is more historically detailed.. you can kind of figure that out, though, when you realize Fulminata is correct latin, and "roma imperious" most certainly isn't.
There is also a Fulminata d20

My maidenly modesty almost forfends my mentioning it, but my humble world (a work in progress) is based on Late Antiquity (specifically, the 4th century CE)
Should you get over your modesty and feel like starting a thread about it, I'm there.

See if you can get hold of Old One on these boards - he's got a campaign world with a heavy Roman flavor that's portable enough that other ENWorlder's have used it for their campaigns too.

That'd be me. He's got some big chunks of material posted in his story hour and I've reposted some of it in mine too. I can't say enough good things about how inspiring his ideas on this are.

I don't think it is out yet, I went on their forums and it looks like it is on a prolonged hiatus. :(

I think I will get the non D20 one as adapting the rules is usually not hard. It is good fluff I am interested in. Reading the review of the original I did like how they tied the gods to certain skills. It would definitely help players remember the ties the people have to the gods. It may be the hardest thing to convert, but I think I am game and if not, that's what ENWorld is for :D

Looks like this will be harder than I imagined as it is out of print and not available anywhere. Well, looks like I will stick with what I bought and waitin to see if FVLMINATA D20 ever somes out.
