The world premier is sometime this week, right?

It opens 12/17.

Watched Two Towers: Extended Edition yesterday and now I can't wait for RotK!

The RotK premire is Dec. 1 in NZ. I wonder if the scene with the hobbits in Mt. Doom will be using the same type of shots/ camera angles that was in the Mt. Doom flashback in FotR. Two weeks to go. Got my ticket for Trilogy Tuesday. :D

AFI's Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, MD (a couple miles from where I live) is having a special members-only (already sold out) Dec 5th screening of ROTK. My brother has tickets (the $#&*$#& :D )

I thought the last line of the Rotten Tomates review was interesting, given how some people are really upset about the elimination of the last chapters of the book from the movie version:

"The final coda of the story is indulgently extended and added a bit of agony to the realization that you've been in your theatre seat for well over 3 hours. I expect "Ring" fans and fanatics will love every second of it; others might wish Peter Jackson had been just a mite less saga minded and over-enchanted by every detail of the Tolkien mythology."

You can't please all the people all the time, it seems...

I am so looking forward to this, it's not funny.

I think it's referring to the inclusion of the Grey Havens. The part that was dropped is the Scouring, iirc.

Of course, I haven't seen the movie yet so I'm just conjecturing.

PS- I'm assuming anyone reading this thread isn't sweating spoilers ;)

World premiere was in Wellington last night and one of my best friends went. Bloody bartenders get all the perks.

He said he'd call today and tell me what it was like, but I suspect he will be too hungover. But I'll let you know what he says.
