Craft Staff, Craft Rod
So the crafting Feats - Monte does it better condensing down to 5 feats based on substance over form.
My objections to the existing feats Worst offenders at the top.
1. Craft Staff - every wizard high priest should be ablt to make one. No one ever does without HR.
Edit 1.5. Forge Ring - every sample NPC has a ring, who is making these? others have clearly stated the rest of my objections. It will go without my help
2. Craft Rod - the metamagic ones are useful, but it requires 2 feats, and once you make the rod the feat is really useless. Unless there is a direct trading system these rods should be very rare.
3. All Psionic craft feats - not in the list but still, they dont fit as seperate feats, mostly they are usless - the one exception Crowns are very cool.
4. Craft Wonder - this is too easy to get - makes a huge pile of misc wonders avalible with outcost. I have some issues about elixers and dusts being wonders btw.
5. Craft Arms & Craft Wand. If you accept that magic items are common then these two are in the right place, they both have severe limitations on what it is possible to do with them and honestly they are just so useful.
6. Brew potion _ why do people dislike this one? It is a staple of fantasy literature that every hedge mage can brew potions. cheap, easy, limited I think it fits perfectly.
7. Scribe Scroll - great for low level casters, the fact that it is free for wizards is nice. IME it is less used in mid and upper levels. As the cost for a one use spell becomes hard to bear.
