rpg-character portrait in progress -- feedback welcomed

veinglory

First Post
Here is my portfolio http://billplee.epilogue.net

I need some practise doing less stylised more realistic art. I would want to use the finished piece in my portfolio. Male characters preferred, non-human race characters preferred. I would like to work with the person making the request, show the sketch in progress, get feedback etc.

So if you want a character portrait put your full character description below and include info on any preferences you have re: appearance, pose, background etc. Please describe the character without using any game jargon, like you'd describe him/her/it to your grandmother.

Please, only one! I will take the very first person to respond and if I am available again I will make a new thread.

At five feet and one hundred pounds Iseldra is quite petite. Her
long black hair has been put into a complicated braid. She is wearing an
alabaster white mask that one the forehead has two golden bottomless
triangles next to each other. She has dusky skin from what you can see
of it and pair of brown eyes stares out at you from behind the mask.
When she speaks it is with a tone of authority as if she is used to
issuing commands.

Iseldra is clad in a simple green woolen dress that has what looks
like a band of oak leaves embroidered on the hems of here sleeves and
skirt. She is also wearing a matching green shawl that has the head of a
unicorn embroidered on it. In her right hand she is holding a simple
oaken quarterstaff in and us the scratching the ears of what appears to
be a large wolf. The wolf has fairly thick mostly white fur with black
fur running down his back and easily weighs just as much as Iseldra
herself. From nearby branch a raven with croaks something out that is
distinctly in a human tongue and off to the side a sleek chesnut brown
mares stands placidly grazing on a paticularily delicious clump of grass

The triangles look like this

Thank you ALOT!!!

Great. I will do a composition sketch for this and post it for your feedback. By 'bottomless triangle' do you mean a sort of /\ line in gold? I am assuming the mask covers the whole face and is quite tight and thin?

oops. Actually I quite liked the other one.... just let me know which one you want done the most as the masked female character was quite intriguing and I liked the animals.

okay. I will go with her. I will be offline all weekend but you can expect the basic grayscake sketch around Monday and if that's okay I'll do the colour.

Well. My hard drive crashed, but I have a new one -- and then I spent a whole day finding a working driver to download for my ancient artec scanner (the one artec supplies online is corrupted). Nevermind. I am back online and so is enworld. Here is my compisition sketch. It's a bit basic.
