Mr. Jones tries to take control of one of the guards, but is stopped by a mental wall of free will and determination.

Suddenly a red headed girl dressed in a tank top and sweats appears, "What's going on?"

"Probably just Roarke messing with us, Rush. You give him those things you swiped from the intruders. he looks at the other guard, "Give it up, Simmons, it was an illusion. Radio-Situation Under controll

"Yeah, Jim as them. Metal said he was going over to the Elementry school to take care of the two there. I haven't been able to find the fifth one, though."

Mr Jones continues to watch from his position on the roof. This Girl looked to be a good bit more dangerous than the guards, no visible weapons or armour, always a bad sign. And what did she mean by stuff she swipped from the intruders? Jones hoped the others were OK, no one had reported trouble on the radio.

The Juggler was probably on his way over, sitting still and trying not to get spotted seemed like the best idea for now. And that reminded the magician about the stone bird, he looked up to the sky behind him to see if he could spot the animated statue.

OOC: Umm--Raylis, unless your house-ruling this something fierce, the default assumption of M&M 2nd edition is that all attacks are non-lethal unless the attacker specifies he's going to do lethal damage.

OOC: I don't remember reading this, which doesn't mean it's not there, but I tend to err on the side that makes the most sense, e.g. a sword would deal leathal by default while an unarmed attack would be non-lethal.

The Juggler slips across the courtyard, over the artifical brook and up a set of stairs to the science building. He can see a pair of double doors and three men dressed in body armor and dark helmets. They are armed with odd, gun shaped devices.

No one attempts to stop Zenji or Archeville from leaving.

Mr. Jones looks over the campus and he can see the eagle flying toward the dormitories, over the Pence Union Building.

[sblock=rules question...]
I don't think I can use my telekinesis to fly directly (at least, not yet... Soon as I get another power point, I'm going to take yet another alternate power for the staff-- flight, thematically based on the telekinesis), but can I do something like grab a table (or a carpet! :)) and stand on it, and then move that with TK?

Will edit this post to respond to Archeville after a ruling is handed down
[/sblock]

OOC: that's a tricky one Asmor...in the rules of telekinesis it specifically says that a moving object cannot drag a character "holding" it, but as for riding an object...I'm going to say no without the Precise feat

I would like to see some other opinions on this as I'm torn...

(OOC: M&M 2nd Ed, Page 163, Lethal Damage.))

The Juggler draws a Sleeper Ball, and prepares to throw, waiting for the time being.

[sblock=OOC]Hate to say it, but what's Asmor's describing is Flight with the Platform flaw (from UP -- "Your Flight is reliant on some sort of platform on which you stand or sit. If you suffer any knockback while flying or you are grappled by someone standing on the ground, you’re knocked or pulled off your platform and cannot fly. You can regain the use of your flying platform by reactivating your Flight effect (which may require a Concentration check, depending on circumstances"). Somewhat good news, though (well, maybe) is that, since the TK is in Zenji's staff, if he used Extra Effort, it could "fatigue" the staff (causing it to lose 2pp from each its effects) rather than him (or it could fatigue him, since it's his will controlling the Staff.)

FYI, Archeville was asking b/c he was thinking of picking Zenji up and carrying him (while he carries Jim the Illusionist with his Staff's TK). It'd either look really cool and impressive (especially if we later did some sort of "Fastball Special," and Zenji discovers his Staff's Blast),... or clumsy and awkward.[/sblock]

Zenji thinks for a moment before responding to Archeville. "Actually, I have been thinking about that and there's something I can try..." Zenji looks around for a moment, and his eyes land on a bench not too far away. "Perfect!" he exclaims as he aims his staff at it and it flies towards him, coming to a gentle rest right in front of him.

The Arcane Antiquarian takes a seat and concentrates, and the bench begins to rise, wobbling unsteadily. "Whoa! This is--" suddenly it pitches backwards and unceremoniously plants him on the grass below. Zenji dusts himself off and stands up. "Ow... Man, that was a lot harder than I expected. It's more difficult to control things when you don't have a good steady perspective on them."

[sblock=Inner Monologue]Bah! This is why all so-called"magic-users" are fools, they barely know what they're doing!

What about that whole "Discovery through Experimentation" that Science is based on?

That... that's not the same! Most spell-slingers barely comprehend the full scope of what they do or how they do it!

Well, maybe this one'll be different. Especially if we help guide him.

WHAT?!

We can work with him, help him go about his studies in a more codified and regimented manner. Make sure he doesn't skip any steps, make sure he doesn't take any shortcuts, like those offered by all the nasty supernatural beings out there. Make sure he knows what he's doing. And along the way, maybe we'll learn something, too.

......... bah! I'd sooner go back and listen to the moon-eyed ramblings of those brainwashed hostages![/sblock]

Archeville offers Zenji a hand up. "Ja, vell, experiments rarely vork as ve'd hoped on zhe first try -- zhat's vhy zhey're called 'experiments'!" he adds with a smirk. "But, sadly, now ist not zhe time for experimentation, now ist zhe time for action! If your staff can continue carrying young Jim, I believe I can carry zhe two of you as mein Gravimetric Belt flies us to zhe Science Building; I vould 'port us over, but mein transmat unit seems to haff shorted out."

"But, hey, ve vill either look truly impressive und 'cool'... or clumsy und awkward. Hopefully, more of zhe former zhen zhe latter."
