The bottles are all sorts of odd liquids, none that look drinkable or refreshing.

Dwarf "Aye and Aye again, I'm a Traveling Merchant. A Rolling Stone. Fell free to sit and put your feet up. I'm Gromm BigBottle. Dwarven alchemist of no small bottle. "

"Ah, then my search was not in vain!" I settle into a seat next to him. "Well met, Gromm - I am Edmond of House Oldgate. From where do you hail? I assume Bigbottle isn't a family name - but that could be a horrid misunderstanding on my part."

Gromm BigBottle "Well met. I'm not from anywhere, and no place claims me. My parents were traveling merchants too, with no home. My parents were just Walkers, not the best name. So I took BigBottle as my name. I'm an alchemist, so I wanted something catchy. "

"An alchemist? Really? That sounds fascinating! I've read in books that Alchemists pursue an everlasting elixir - what is it? A philosopher's stone or some such? That must be incredible to come from such a noble tradition!"

Gromm BigBottle "Ah, yes there is Truth in the Bottle. I'm guessing your reading a human book on human alchemy. Us dwarves are a bit different. Less fancy stuff, much more practical. I can make rocks into gold....but not good gold, and not for too long. That is much more of a human daydream.

You maybe need an elixir ? Maybe a love pithier for a lass? Some sleeping juice? A strong drink?"

"Hah! I'm actually in need of a travel companion. I was hoping you might be leaving town soon - I have business towards the Duchy of this land, and travelling the roads alone is unwise at the best of times. Do you plan on leaving anytime soon, Mr. Bigbottle?"

Gromm BigBottle "I don't really got any plans to do anything. I just sort of swing on the end of my beard. You going to the capital? Jol? Never been there myself. I traveled along the mountain trails, then just across The Veld. "

"Precisely so! The good Duke of Jol needs to be informed on some local matters, and I have been tasked with that very job. It sounds like both of us are unfamiliar with the southern roads. I have no substantial wealth to offer, but I have basic provisions, and traveling together is safer, all things consisered!"

Gromm BigBottle "Well, it might be about time for me to move on anyways. Can't stay in one place too long. I'm a rolling stone. I don't need much, I'm used to living off the land, not town comforts.

How soon did you want to move on? "

"Well, to be honest, I don't have too terribly much else to check on. I want to make sure the townsfolk are alright around here, ensure things are appropriately cared for, and then head out. I am a little concerned about the safety of the road, so perhaps I can find a crossbow or... Anything really." I reach down and feel the bone needle in my pocket, the thoughts of the dragon sightings only part of what weighs on my mind for danger.
