D&D 5E Sacrosant's sacrosanct guide to the most sacrosanct fighting styles

I did not change the cantrip feats because I'm not getting hung up on the title of the feature (fighting style), but viewing it through the lens of a class feature. And getting cantrips is a huge benefit. It also address the oft mentioned complaint of fighters not having any out of combat functionality, and if that is fixed, then it must be a really great feature.

That makes sense, although I still think the fact that you are giving up your Fighting Style (part of your assumed combat performance) to get a different class feature is highly problematic.

I was using it to play around with other variations for GWF so it was convenient, but that is cool to know.
If you need a general form, for a 1dN die, rerolling and keeping from 1 to k, it's a k(n-k)/2N increase. The new average is [N^2+(k+1)N-k^2] / 2N.

Question: By RAW does the die from Superior Technique (UA) and Martial Adept stay at a d6 if taken by a Battle Master?

Sorry not trying to derail the thread.

Pretty sure since it doesn't state otherwise. And if it did scale with BM, it would be a better advantage for the same style over other fighter subclasses that took it. But I'd totally allow it

CQS comes into its own if you let it stack with Archery. +3 to hit with no Disadvantage? BRING IT ON! I wonder if there are other synergies?

Interception is truly great. It's an at-will Battlemaster maneuver..

Unarmed Fighting (UA): unarmed strikes do 1d6+str modifier. If both hands are free, damage is 1d8. When you start a grapple, deal 1d4 dmg and 1d4 added to each attack while grappled. For the record, I'm a fan of niche protection so I totally buy into the reason why they did this feat they way they did, not wanting to overshadow the monk, who is supposed to be the best an unarmed attacks. That said, this is still so situational I don't really see much value. If you're a fighter, why would you skip one of the above styles in favor for this? If you want to be good at unarmed combat, be a monk. Then you factor that this isn't finesse, so it eliminated all of those DEX based fighters. Who in their right mind, as a STR based fighter, would skip GWF or dueling in order to get this? Bueller? It would have to be highly situational and a very specific build (like a boxer).
This style is not for the Boxer, but for the wrestler. Free damage on a grapple and free damage to every attack made against a grappled target helps make up being limited to a one handed weapon and no shield.

So it's not in competition with GWF, but with dueling.

My biggest problem with it is it's Tavern Brawler+
