Although both Hong and Green Slime have some good points, I'd say putting all your money into your daisho is a non-issue. First, the character should have limits to the wealth he has access to, as suggested in the DMG. Second, putting all your eggs in one basket is always risky, especially when it comes to weapons. That is, unless forsome reason Sunder does not exist in your campaign.
