Sanctify Ki Strike

First Post
Does anyone know if the sanctify ki strike and holy ki strike feats from the Book of Exalted Deeds are incorrect in their present form? Currently the sanctify ki strike requires ki strike (lawful), requiring that the PC have at least 10 levels of monk, which seems very steep given the low benefit. Maybe they meant ki strike (magic)? That's only a fourth level monk.

Then for holy ki strike it requires both sanctify ki strike AND ki strike (holy). You can't get that second ability as a monk, or as anything. Actually, the only way to get that ability is to take this feat. So how do you go about getting holy ki strike, then? It's an enigma!

The Ki Strike (Lawful) is probably what was intended. A Sanctified Ki Strike (IIRC) makes you hands good weapons, and you shouldn't get that at 6th level. The Holy Ki Strike prereq should probably be Sanctify Ki Strike instead.

I see nothing wrong with the requirements for Sanctify Ki Strike -- and one of my Exodus characters is a monk, with that very ability.

Withthe BoED, you don't need 10 levels of monk -- the PrC "Initiate of Pistis Sophia" provides full, stacking progression of a monk's Ki Strike abilities. Monk 5 / Initiate 5 works just fine, for example.

Compare

Compare the prereqs for the Sanctify Ki Strike feat with those of the sanctify martial and natural attacks. The effective level prereq is HALF or LESS than that of the Ki strike feat. Why?

Well...emmm...yes, I suppose that is correct :p

But is it really worth -that- high of a level increase?

Very late to this topic. But since a minks fist are considered both weapon and natural attack, couldn't you just take weapon focus and sanctify martial strike?
