School's Out New CD Purchases!

Mark Chance

Boingy! Boingy!
Well, my work year has come to an end. To help celebrate about two months away from students, I bought several new CDs to which I shall jam both at home and in the car. Specifically: This Is Country Music (Brad Paisley), Best of Doo Wop (3 CD collection by various artists), The Very Best of Kansas, The Very Best of Billy Idol, Lovers Live (Sade), Around the World in a Day (Prince & the Revolution), The Score (Fugees), Crazy Love (Michael Bublé), and The Platinum Collection of Queen's greatest hits.

How about y'all? Any new music in your lives?

I had limited funds as well, but sold some poor Irish children to the medical research company JonSwiftBiotech for extra ca$h. ;)

Actually, Danny's a lawyer, so he probably threw them under the medical research company truck and then sued them for liability. In addition to the music purchases, he hired Van Halen to play at his backyard BBQ... (luv ya bro.)

Not Van Halen- like them though I do- it was Gwar*! They brought the meat. ;)

* Mayhem was NOT available. I so wanted to try the stew...

Why, yes: I just got 'This Will Destroy You' from the band of the same name. Really excellent music (post-rock)!

I had wanted to buy this for quite a while since watching one of their recorded concerts.
For some reason, though, I got confused and bought an album from 'Explosions in the Sky' instead (I probably followed one of those 'customers who bought this also bought...' links on Amazon), who have a similar sound but aren't quite as good, imho.

Easy enough mistake to make with the current fad of "phrase names" going 'round. Heck, you can even make a sentence: "Explosions in the sky, this will destroy you!"
