Scrying is Fooled by-?

BoEM III has a lot of spells that muck with scrying and variant rules that talk about materials and energies that can ruin scrying as well if they are nearby the location being scried. (I thought originally that you were looking strictly at PH spells.)

Lord of the scarlet tide is from an adventure in dungeon magazine....its too cool IMO...if its the same thing it will be pretty fun for you, if you manage to live through it :D

Couple weeks ago I sent off one of the NPCs to die. I need a little help understanding what I saw and I think I have been duped.

I need to know if there are any spells that can defeat Scrying (this question is directed for 3.0e D&D, not 3.5e) with an illusion, that could make the Scrying mirror reverberate from the power (or is this just a GM trick, which I am assuming- more then likely to keep me from teleporting in, grabbing the victim and porting out again).

In any case that’s what I need-

Thanks for your time, and I will try to be patient this time in waiting for a response.

;)

Don't you mean that 'your character' sent off one NPC to die, 'your character' needs help understanding, and 'your character' needs to know if there are any spells, etc.?

Seems like cheating when you ask several thousand of your closest friends (some who happen to be designers of the game/related games) to help you figure out a meta-game solution to an in-game problem 'your character' is having.

FOR SHAME!

My advice- Play the game and have 'your character' work out the solution. Even if you aren't ruining the game for yourself, which I think you are, you might be ruinging it for the other players and the DM. I will have no part in your nefarious plans, Talon5!

I tend to think in manners of what the character can do and what I don't know.

Intro- Alran has an 18 Int, 17 Wis, Spell Craft 16, Knowledge- Arcane 17, Scrying 13, Alchemy 14, those are his highest skills because of his deep love of magic.

Me on the other hand am a Carpenter 14 yrs of experience (mostly commerical), I have certifications in Estimating & Project Management. Auto CAD and Drafting are of great interest to me. My experience with gaming goes back twenty odd years and includes more games then I wish to count. I know my disabilities and my strength better then I would like.

I seek assistance because Alran is very bright and I- well I don't feel that I am bright or have the brains that Alran has or is suppose to have. :p

The GM I am up against is the smartest person I know, graduated with a CS degree from San Jose State with a 3.95 GPA, he knows the rules and all the books in gaming like the back of his hand. His library includes most if not all of the D&D 3.0e and quite a few of the 3.5 books. Keeping up with his brain is like tring to swim after a dolphin. :)

I realize that you may well be jesting and all, or perhaps that you will not even read this thread again, its not really my point- people use this forum because they don't know, because they play characters out of their reach (as Alran is out of mine).

I thank you for you thoughts and for sharing them with us, I mean no disrespect and take none from you.

Thank you all for your time, thoughts and help- I need it.

:)

Talon5, great answer. And, may I add, refreshingly pleasant and respectful. Too many folks out there (and note that I think we're spoiled here at ENWorld, as a rule) without the kind of class you just showed.

Thank you, Baron. :)

I learned a valued leason recently from EN World related to how to treat people on the net.

We're all in this together, please feel free to assist or to make comments as you see fit.

Peace, everyone

:)
