Dog Moon

We've all used the search check, rogues prolly more than others, to search for secret doors and traps and whatnot. The PHB gives a couple of set numbers for these things. The DMG is cool because it details a bunch of traps and the Search DCs for all of them. However, I'm wondering why they don't have a list, even a short one for examples, of various types of secret doors and hidden valuables. The PHB gives a well-hidden door a Search DC of 30. Does that mean that no matter how much effort I put into hiding a door, it can only have a max DC of 30? And hidden treasure? Why isn't there any ideas about the DCs of hiding treasures? In premade adventures, as few as there are in 3.5, they seem to hide items quite frequently and give appropriate Search DC checks for them? I don't feel like searching every single adventure just for ways of hiding things and their DCs. Is there a book that has a list of any of this somewhere? I'd hate to think that there's a massive list of it somewhere and I'm annoyed because they haven't created one. I have plenty of ideas of where to hide items (trying to get my group away from the whole generic 'I search this room, I got a 26 on my check,' especially when there aren't DCs for such): hidden compartments in candle holders, hollow chair seats, hollowed book, behind wall paintings or tapestries, secret compartments in chests, hollowed boots, hollowed hilts in swords, etc. If nothing else, I feel a little better at getting this off my chest, though if anyone could help with my situation, I would be grateful.
