OK, have fun with that.

Every spell can be done more than once a day... so that makes them not a daily resource? that is a nonsensical definition... if there is a limited amount per day (Even if that amount is more than you like.) that doesnt mean its an encounter resources ... an encounter resource can be done every other 5 minutes or there abouts... rest and do it over.

If you are an encounter resource you could do it hundreds of times a day.

I know, you're the rightest guy I know. And only you truly understand all that is D&D. I bow to your superior knowledge of what I think would be acceptable in the upcoming version, and the realities of 4e. A billion pardons master.

Dope, all that said, I can go back to knowing second wind is an encounter and you can keep pretending it's a daily.

I believe that the proper definition would be an ability you can use 1/encounter for a limited times per day. Which, technically, does mean that it's not truly an encounter power since encounter powers have no limit per day. Out of combat, there is nothing to differentiate an encounter power from an at-will.

Second winds and healing surges are closer to something like a 3e Barbarian's Rage or a Bard's Music powers. Limited encounter power.

Its a misrepresentation to call it purely an encounter ability... If he could use second wind and get all its nifty benefits after every short rest... that would be terrible and virtually unlimited.

Again that 3x sorceror can cast his spell of level X, 6 times per day... what kind of limit is that? Is it a daily limit or what?

Second wind has more than one limit ... 2 of those affect its use in a given encounter but the other is identical to that sorcerors spell.

Neither fella, those are spell slots. But again, you're the smartest, most hansom man to ever throw dice. None of that changes the way I voted. One second wind a day. However, please continue with this semantic argument. I find your attempts to convince me endlessly entertaining.

Book says once per encounter, making it...

In the cases where it's a power with a special set of situations there's a (special) to denote it. Again, regardless of the tied resource it's an encounter power, and again, not what I want in the new edition.

What do you think I am trying to convince you of... exactly

An un restricted encounter resource would be ridiculous. And a once per day is pretty much less than useless at staving off the "Cleric In Every Party" motto and the poll is provides me no good answer.

6 per day.. yup those are a daily resource.. and they are the only limit on those spells the healing surge has more limits than them. Unless you now figure they are at-will spells.... which just happen to require a daily resource.
