Seperate groups for IC recruitment and play?

The IC group seems to be gaining steam. I've lost count of the # of games conducted. Perhaps it's time to split the group into OOC and recruitment posts and IC play?

That's not a bad idea, Krug. There've even been several people in the last week or so who've posted "Anyone recruiting? The forums is so full I can't find open games" threads.

It could make things simpler, too, in that nowadays IC threads are being bumped off within a day, something that never would have been imaginable two months ago. If OOC and Recruitment threads were seperate, it'd be easier for folks to track their actual IC theads.

Alright, 13 games are in the IC Index. I can think of at least 4 games I play in (or watch) that are not. I can think of a few "retired" games, that I guess I'll archive to the IC index anytime now. I'd say there are at least 10 games not archived that are still running. That's roughtly 30 games, I suppose. I don't think that constitutes seperating the threads, but I'd like to see them "flag" their own games in the Index when they decide to make a game. That alone would tell me (I don't know how much attention other users have) that there is a new game open.

I'll second this... or third it or whatever.

The IC board is overflowing. An OOC board is a good idea.
If you like, I'll do a thread count and seperate the OOC URLs from the IC URLs... but you are talking about a big change. For all we know, the IC will slow down in a month or two.

I only run one game -- and I can see what you mean for those of you who run and play in a number of them, it all looks a little crowded down there! Even I have to search for my threads sometimes. All two of them. :D

So maybe this is a good idea if it's not too much work for the mods?

I use the index to find my own games. That works for me, but some DMs refuse to do a post for unknown reasons. Really, it only takes 30 seconds to make that thread, and 30 seconds to update it every time you branch off into a new thread.

I've been trying to get into more games. I think the index would work fine if everyone used it.

Another good sticky thread might be one on how the forum works, protocol for posting IC and OOC and other topics that come up often, like DMs rolling vs. not rolling, etc. Might be easier to get people to join if they could read all about it at the top and might be easier to figure out for newbies. I would have liked that.

Good idea, GE! An IC FAQ would be very useful. If the mods/admins are cool with the idea, I can write one up and maintain it.
