Serious Changes to WotC

I realy, realy don't like the sound of this... ugh. One would hope that the gaming buisness would be above that, but that is naive...

It seems like every few months something bad happens, then we get a few months "off" then something else bad happens.

Although I fail to see how moving the WotC retail stores to new owners "spells the doom" for WotC....

I would love to see some confirmation of this actually. This is one of those things that we might not hear about publically if it is true. This is bad if true. If not, then the site is crap and should be banned. I hold my opinion til further notice.

I can't imagine WotC would be holding an "open call" the way they are if they were about to be massively reorganized or otherwise messed up.

Granted, the deadlines are a little tight, which would suggest that they're in a hurry for some reason. Still, it seems unlikely.

Unless someone can explain to me why they'd do it under the (supposed) current circumstances?

To be honest, I don't really care who's running the show, so long as the product is good and the prices don't skyrocket. I feel bad for those that are affected by this, but D&D is still D&D, not matter who's label is on the cover, whether it be TSR, WotC, Hasbro, or Heinz. I dig D&D. I don't care who makes it. If the feel of the game doesn't change, what does it matter who runs it?

Just some food for thought. :)

Disclaimer: In truth, I probably shouldn't be adding on to this post at all, especially since I'm so very tired.

This just doesn't sound right. The part about the Renton police department filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the guy. A police department can't file a lawsuit like that. That's what happens in civil suits, and police departments are responsible for criminal cases.

The police could file charges against him claiming he stole millions of dollars, but they wouldn't file a lawsuit against him. Actually, the police department probably wouldn't be the ones to file charges against him. The district attorney's office would probably do that. The police would just arrest him on the charges.

Until there's more solid confirmation of all this, I'd remain skeptical.

What's the worst that could happen?

Worst case senario. WotC goes under and we still have many top-shelf companies out there that will release top-shelf material.

Everything'll be fine. ;)
