SG1: An Old Friend (Wik Judging)

"Oh, what a bother... So much wasted opportunity to study..."

Balnibar drops his crossbow and pulls out his rapier as he enters the smoke to cover himself.

OOC: Drop crossbow, move action to draw rapier, 5' step northeast, attack H.

ooc: Lorth, you're taking away Belnibar's chance to flank, and therefore to use his sneak attack.
In that case, have Lorth move to .... uh .... another square from which he can attack and not take away the sneak. Sorry, taking care of a sick kid at home. Not much time to study the map.

Mathew spends tis round trying to free himself.

[Sblock=NPC Notes] Mathew is very focused on his House and his ambitions in his house. He recently heard some news about cruption in his house and wants to bring honor back to the Cannith name. He is looking to make allies through out Khorvaire and use the aliances to help him in this cause.

For the short time he wants to rescue his current employer and bring the villians to justice.
He is very interested in machanics andacient magics. This may distract him from the moment sometimes.

OOC;Balnibar should tumble then, to avoid the AoP!

What Attack? It's a move into a threatened square, not out of a threatened square. Moving into a threatened square does not trigger an AoO, just a move out. Also, the smoke provides concealment, thwatring AoO as well.

no doubt. but were BJ to move to achieve a flank/sneak attack this round, he'd need to be east of the heavy, moving there provokes. but it seems to me that Corran and Lorth are moving into flanking, while BJ is simply engaging and waiting till next round for said attack

Workroom Ruckus: Round 3

Sensing proximity, the flinger tosses two more pieces of debris at the closing rogue. Both manage to shoot through the cloth but are deflected harmlessly. This gives the rascal the opening it needs, and with a quick move, tosses the canvas over the mechanism. Turning his back to it, he draws a wicked small blade. "You're dead now!" he says menacingly as he advances on Coran.

Undeterred by the canvas, Genithar targets the flinger. But a paroxysm of cough from a smoke tendril send the bolt flying wildly. [Miss] Corran finds his way blocked by the re-emergent rogue and instead desperately focuses on the tough while warding himself at the same time. The timid blows are easily deflected. [Fighting defensively; misses] On the other side of the thug, Cheep manages to skewer its stinger into his thick arm, though the damage is negligible. [Hits; 1hp] What is most surprising is Mathew's suddent surge of strength. With an annoyed yell, the Cannith heir sheds the stringy mass. While still slowed, he is free to move! [Str check succeeds; entangled but not held]

The tough has to spend extra time batting away Corran's morningstar and shield, he is able to do so and viciously cuts the man's torso. The blow is too much for the cleric, and he falls, senseless. [Hits, 5hp, unconscious]

Seeing his ally fall, Lorth steps into the fray to protect his friends. His kick is low, however. [Misses] The gnome comes to the same conclusion, and draws his weapon in preparation for his assault. But the cramped quarters keep him from moving forward and attacking. [No 5' steps---the room is difficult terrain]

Lorth takes two quick swings at H, knowing that he needs to knock this one down fast.

Balking as Corran's crumpled body settles upon the floor, the Wizard's face goes cold with rage.
Smoothly sliding a bolt into his crossbow, Genithar yanks the mechanism back and steps to his left.
Effortlessly hefting it to his shoulder and sighting down the stalk, the half elf calls, 'Matthew! Cure the Cleric, but wait on Lorth's fists!'

With that, the Wizard fires almost point blank into the murderous rouge.

ooc; load, 5' step west, fire with action point at R
