SG1: An Old Friend (Wik Judging)

[I'll handle rolls; just tell me when you want to make them]

Lorth's jumps are not enough to reach the top of the balcony, and his fingers cannot quite find a good hold. As he is repositioning himself, a voice suddenly speaks out.

"Hey! What do yer think yer doin'!" The strong voice belongs to what appears to be a middle aged dwarven male three stories up on the opposite tower. You suspect his voice is loud enough to be heard round the block.

Aldus, will he recognize your voice coming from Cheep? Can you convince him to quiet down so the intruders aren't alerted? Corran asks, looking to the north to make sure nobody is approaching.

The Wizard nods at Corran's idea, looking to Balnibar questioningly and asking, 'Can you handle him?'

Switching to Lorth, Genithar hisses,
Throw up the rope and grapple! We'll all need to ascend with it's help!'

Coldan does not see anyone immediately. Cheep/Aldus quickly and quietly adds, "Uh. I think that be Dalabir Privet, but I not be sure---I don't be socializing with the neighbors much. Talking and such was always Tobias' things. I'll tell you about the time he convinced a Dhalkani Dirge Singer to give us her heirloom mandolin later."

Lorth frowns at his own inability to get up on his own, but understands that time is limited. He tosses up the rope and grapple and if it catches, starts to ascend.

When Cheep admits he can't be of much help with the neighbor, and nobody seems to be coming, Corran tries to help Jimneyblivet assuage the good dwarf's suspicions by smiling and following his companion's lead.

ooc: aid other, if you'll allow it.

OOC: Indeed I do. I was just thinking about it while responding in another thread.

Balnibar hastily looks up at the other tower. He thinks a moment, summoning what little magic he knows to make an illusion of sound closer to the dwarf in the tower without alerting everyone. "Um, nothing to concern you, good sir. We've been asked by good Mr. Thunderbanner to test the defenses on his room. I can send you his servant to corroborate."

Balnibar then turns to Cheep. "Just let him know that you know that we are trying to get into your place at your request. If he is still uncomfortable, I'll go and speak with him. Oh! If only I had some sort of placard, a carryable and disposable shopkeeper's sign! Ah, this will do for now..."

He snaps his fingers, and a small, hard paper-like card appears. "You can give this to Mr. Privet."

The card reads,

Balnibar Jiminyblivet
Designer of Dungeons, Traps, Hidden Enclosures, and All Manner of Multidefense Architecture.
