Shadow Government. Just too tasty.

Who sang that song with the line "Paranoia will destroy ya"?

No offense to all our great American boardmembers, but the U.S. government has some serious issues... Bush is definately living up to his "cowboy" image that was expected when he became pres. sheesh.

-W.

you really think it's paranoia after what happened on 9/11? by the way, that part about al quaeda getting nuclear weapons is not some kind of fantasy.....concrete evidence has shown that they've tried and probably will try in the future to get one.

i'm glad that our government has this contingency laid out ahead of time. 6 months ago i might have just dismissed it as you have. not now, though.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean you are wrong:
If the government has no knowledge of aliens, then why does Title 14, Section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations, implemented on July 16th, 1969, make it illegal for U.S. citizens to have contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles?

Interesting, but apparently a fabrication. I've been unable to locate any such section in the CFR, and indeed, the word "extraterrestrials" is not found in the document. The only mention of the word "extraterrestrial" is in reference to disposal of hazardous waste in extraterrestrial (ie, not ground) environments.

Having also checked the CFR, (US Code of Federal Regulations. Sorry, I'm a reference librarian) I concur that there is no such section referring to the prohibition of alien encounters by US citizens.

Trailer parks and hermits are once again safe from self-incrimination. :)

No, but you do have the Lite-version, don't you? It's so cool it hurts. I'm getting this game for sure. :D

Yes indeed! It's kind of like starving while standing outside a steakhouse...only being able to smell the food and not eat it.

At least I won't be directly selling my soul to WotC for this line of products.

I dunno how paranoid it is, after all the recent polls showing an overwhelming dislike, if not outright hatred, of the US, especially in the Middle East, but in Europe also.

Hey, look! It's a thread bordering on politics... and you all know what that means! So please steer it back to d20 modern, or get it closed.

Hey, PC, does your e-mail work yet? It might help some who would like to contact you directly, especially given your role as an administrator of the boards. Maybe set up a Yahoo or Hotmail account for just that purpose?

Salutations,

I have never been big into spy games, but have always enjoyed the movies/literature.

One theory that I thought was fun, I think it came from the movie Cube, was that there are so many government agencies (shadow and visible)- that they have become automated to a degree that it is unclear who or what is incharge- if anyone.

Of course, Metal Gear Solid 2 also had a pretty interesting take on a shadow government- though the ending throws it all into question.

Argh! Darn Cube! Darn MGS2! Give me straight answers!

Maybe this is why I don't play spy games.
