Looking forward to diving in and never hearing "I have darkvision" again!
But seriously, I'm reminded of when Castles and Crusades came along, just when I was so over 3e. Now, I find myself again done with the complexity of the current edition of D&D, and this game seems to marry the old school feel with modern ideas and innovations.

Per today's newsletter, completed PDFs from the Western Reaches Kickstarter are scheduled start being released in late July. The mini-adventures, spell cards and Cursed Scrolls 4 and 6 are expected to be the first released, with Cursed Scroll 5 and the Players Guide to the Western Reaches after that.

The first time a party's torch goes out mid-battle is a magical moment.
It might happen again if an enemy attacks the light, but the players will be adamant about keeping an eye on the clock from then on out and making every second count, as well as making sure they have enough torches to get back to the surface alive.
It's not quite Darkest Dungeon levels of watching supplies, but it's amazing -- after decades -- to make that a core part of a game without it feeling like Dungeons & Accountants.
