Its interesting to me from just a class design, as thats where we see the most variety, the various levers being pulled.
Compare Fighter.
All Weapons, All Armor
1d8
Hauler (Gear Slots)
Weapon Mastery (Attack/Damage by Level)
Grit (Ability Checks)
Talent 4 (Durability)
To Pit Fighter (Cursed Scroll 2)
All Weapons, Leather Armor, Shield
1d8
Flourish (per day, +hp)
Implacable (Ability Checks)
Last Stand (Passive, Durability)
Relentless (per day, Durability)
Talent 1 (per day, Durability)
To Duelist (Cursed Scroll 6)
Dagger, Swords, Leather Armor, Mithril Chain
1d8
Parry (per day, Durability)
Tale Spinner (Ability Checks)
Taunt (passive, Attacks)
Talent 1 (per day, Durability)
Talent 4 (passive, Damage)
The Fighter, imo, is easily the most simple, and for what its meant to do, when you look at Weapon Mastery and Hauler? Even though Pit Fighter is more complex, and Duelist depends on getting a couple of talent rolls, I'd still rate Fighter as the more solid design.
Which isnt to say the other classes are bad at all, but I look at Fighter and I think 'yeah thats exactly what this game needs out of a Fighter.'
I still think Ranger is sublime but yeah, I really like the design on some of these classes. Monk is another one thats great.
