Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

There already is a skill system in the game, but it's just "what would a character of your ancestry, background and class be good at? Roll with advantage using the proper attribute stat as a bonus."

And the using of the background for skills opens up that "player skill" stuff that the OSR talks about. Come up with a compelling case to the GM that because you are "banished" that you know how to do something?

recommend me a good shadowdark adventure

Criteria

Not in Cursed Scrolls

Not an osr/ old d&d adventure i could convert

At least 25 rooms. None of that 2 page 5 room slop thanks

So anyway.

Classes, Items, Spells, Monsters, people dont seem to get jazzed over that, to the degree people are over adventures/settings?.

Devoured Labyrinth - 56K
Bloodmoor - 42K
Aetherdark - 37K
Righteous Vow 3 - 13K with 26 days to go. (If they upgrade the binding I'll get all 3 books @darjr !)
Sapphire Seas - 8K with 26 days to go, as a 1-10 Adventure/Setting.

Is that what folks here would be more interested in? Adventures/Modules/Settings?

Yes. Classes are bunk, items and monsters are details. GIMME ADVENTURE
Aren't there a ton of adventures, many of them low-priced or free, out already? Seems like we have plenty to choose from and likely not nearly time enough to even read them all, let alone play them. And with so many already extant examples, adjusting them or even making your own is IMO not too much of a hardship.

To my mind, making new rules content is more valuable.
