Funny, I stumbled on trilemma yesterday. What I read so far seemed very good and varied and very to me.
Skerples wrote one of the adventures that caught my eye, about a haunted house with a squatter problem. Will drop this in my city for sure, should be a hoot!

Man, I want to support everyone working in the Shadowdark space, but I also have no need whatsoever for another KS product every month.

Or 2... lol
Yeah, we've definitely reached firehose levels.

Even just going with Shadowdark-statted adventures means backing a ton of projects.

(I actually am an apparent weirdo who is just fine with grabbing any old OSR adventure, rather than Shadowdark-specific ones, although Shadowdark is how I stat my own work.)

I worry about design sensibilities. Shadowdark is "easy" to design for, but it seems like a lot of folks really lose the thread on the ethos.

I do wonder how solid that ethos is.

I try and keep my stuff as simple as possible, just clean.
Right? It just strikes me as a particular refinement of the broader OSR. A few unique bits, sure, like most OSR games, but also not wildly different or unique. Not saying it’s bad. But looking at pure text I don’t know that I could pick Shadowdark out of a dozen other, similar OSR-style games.

Simple systems, clean, light matters, with RNG?

Something I'll think on at the gym.
