Shadowrun Man

First Post
Okay I'm not bagging on D&D but Modern is the domain of shadowrun. Hitting people with a shoot from a firearm is very easy, the D20 system doesn' t reflect this and does not take into mind that firearm are one of the most ease to use weapons in the world. The steps go like this, see target, point at target and pull trigger, how hard is that? Another thing is roll a dice for damage, now the person who got the idea that firearms have random damage for one must not know alot about fireamrs, and two is not looking at it logically and scientifically. Normally a person will either be killed, or incompacitated with a well place shot, not say ow, and act as though nothing has happened, the hit points system doesn't reflect this. In other words want a Modern RPG, PLAY SHADOWRUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

welcome to the boards Shadowrun Man :D

i actually think that the massive damage threshold takes modern weapon damage into account very well (for a system that uses an abstract method of judging health, like hit points)

I don't think that's helpful to us nor this is the appropriate forum to post your opinion, Shadowrun Man.

You want to debate, I suggest you take it to the General RPG Discussion forum.

And now a word from your Friendly Neighborhood d20 Modern Urban Arcana Zoo Keeper:

DON'T FEED THE TROLLS!

Back, back nasty troll! Back to the cesspool of RPGNet from wence thee came! Back! Back I say!

:D

At the risk of seeming anti-social...is there some way to ban this guy from this forum for all of eternity, and possibly cause some sort of feedback that causes his keyboard to explode?

Not saying it should be done, just wondering if it's an option.

Maybe instead of making pointless posts that you know will start a riot you should learn proper spelling and grammar.

Just out of curiosity, how many people have you shot?

Look now, let's not start going around giving Shadowrun fans a bad name.

Anyone who thinks firearms are as simple as point-and-shoot is pretty naive.

For instance, the History Channel has that "history's mysteries unsolved" or something, anyway, one of the subject is the shootout of the OK Corral. A segment of the show features a marksman demonstrating the INaccuracy of firearms when used in the point-and-shoot method. The guy took 3 shots with careful aim (two shots went in the exact same spot -- this guy was GOOD), then took a few "point-and-shoot" shots, nowhere near his target. Likewise with a segment featuring a police officer in a training deal -- the guy sprayed about a dozen shots all over the place before hitting his target, since he was trying to protect himself and didn't have time to aim properly.

You only get to aim if you're a sniper or at the shooting range. Actual gunplay makes hitting your target VERY tricky.
