Wild Shape doesn't work in an antimagic field either

No that wouldn't work either. It'd have to be an Extraordinary shapechange.

Only thing I can think of, which you might have mixed this up with...

There was a thread about a sculpted AMF (Archmage High Arcana), excluding the center area, where a shapechanged wizard can then act freely.
