Lorth, the shifter she had been speaking to previously, looks at her in confusion.
OOC: Oops :o

"Oh, you're a shifter too, that's right." Lily says, obviously embarrassed. "So do you turn into an apple then? Is that the apple test?"

Lily looks confused when a beer arrives for her. "Mommy told me not to drink with strangers, because they might take advantage of me." She nibbles on a grape.

Mathew rubs the Dragonmark on his right cheek a distant looks crosses his face. He knows the terrible things people in his house do to keep there power. He shakes his head quickly and says "Not all from House Cannith are evil. There is a lot of good we do. I bet you couldn't name a single person in a civilized city who has not benefitted from the works House Cannith bings to be. Not all of them do it for the right reasons but I hope to change that some day." he reaches out to shake Siobhans hand "I am Mathew d'Cannith. I apologize for harm done to you or friends by people of my House, I can assure the acts were not sanctioned by the House Hierarchy."

"Actually, in both cases the acts were performed by members of the House hierarchy on behalf of the house," Siobhan says with cold steel in her voice, "Raven here almost died because Cannith thugs knocked her to the brink of death and didn't let Brother heal her until they realised how bad it would look if they were responsible for her death, and only then because we had already destroyed the doomsday device they wanted."

"In fact, from murder, to treachery, to worse, it may just be my bad luck, but I have hardly had a moment to spare in this city that is not filled with the evil power-grubbing machinations of House Cannith."

(OOC: Sadly true--she's had two separate back-to-back adventures with House Cannith power-grubbers in them :D)

[OOC: NUTS!! lol]

A look of shock crosses Mathew's face "If you give me their names I will report them to Barron Merrix immediately he will not allow such rubbish to bring dishonor to our name. I truly wish to clear the name Cannith so that only the marvels we create are remembered not the wickedness of greed!"

[OOC: Our boy Mathew is oblivious to the fact that most in his House our corrupt]

"He had the full support of this Merrix, so that could be...shall we say difficult for you. If you must know, the one who nearly killed Raven is named Ceshil. You can ask the gnomish clerks at the Orien post office who saw him attempt bribery, exortion, threats, and assault."

Anger flares in Mathew's "What did you do to deserve the wrath of the House? Surely if Barron Merrix is supportive of you bieng brutalized you must have did something to deserve it!"

[OOC: sorry]

"Ceshil wanted to steal a weapon of mass destruction and bring it to House Cannith to use for nefarious ends. He was willing to use any means necessary, including, as I said, physical assault. All we did to be attacked was refuse to back down to his threats. He struck first."

Entering, a young human with a dragonmark on his right temple sees a fellow member of the 'marked under pressure. With a small smile, and a reflexive touch to his holy symbol of Balinor, he walks past the apparent disagreement and eases up to the bar. An ale, good sir, the darkest you've got. It's a long trek from the 'Marches, and I'm hoping to be out on the hunt again soon.

[sblock=OOC] The mark is the least of Finding, for those who might recognize it. [/sblock]
