"Obviously the destruction was wrought of Cannith's hubris. Just because I say 'punished by the spirits' does not mean I think the spirits physically came and performed any action--everyone knows that the gods and supernatural beings have no direct agency on Eberron. And besides, the highest among that house are corrupt, as are their chosen officers. Thus, it does not matter if one or two are not similarly evil, since their quest is bound to fail when their ultimate authority crushes it."Redclaw said:So you attack Cannith for senseless fighting and the destruction of souls with the use of warforged in battle, yet you revere spirits that you admit might be responsible for the destruction of all of Cyre? Shouldn't spirits powerful enough to do such damage have been able to make it so only Cannith suffered for their "evil" ways?
He holds his hands up, showing a lack of true concern for the reputation of the Makers.
Trust me, I know how focused the Houses can be, but there are greedy, ambitious people everywhere one looks. Never forget that the Houses supplied the War, they did not begin it. If one starts to see evil in every individual of a group, one misses the opportunity to hunt down the true trouble-makers. Surely you, with your gifts from Balinor, understands that one or two sick individuals don't mean the entire herd is weak.
"Your analogy with a herd is flawed, as those in Cannith who are evil are not weak, but strong, and thus they corrupt all else. Even those who think themselves good folk, if following the orders of the House, by needs are fulfilling the machinations of evil. It is nothing like a herd of animals with the weak among them."
(OOC: By the way, I'm not sure if E13 et al approved it yet, but you know that you can't actually hunt and get around in the wilderness with Profession: Hunter, right? I noticed it by accident when looking at your character sheet. It's not that easy to get around the lack of a skill on your class skill list (in this case, survival))
