D&D (2024) Should 2014 Half Elves and Half Orcs be added to the 2025 SRD?

Just a thought, but given they are still legal & from a PHB, but not in the 2024 PHB, should they s

What are the good reasons to not include them under new core names?
1) The SRD is there to allow others to create compatible content, since Half-X or a new name is not part of the actual rules, there is no reason whatsoever to include these 'species' in the SRD.

2) Having 2 mixed species counteracts the clear intent of having the mixed species using the rules laid out in the PHB for that.

3) They are already in the 5.1 SRD so anyone who does want to use them can do so without them being in the 5.2 SRD

Might as well get a system that allows for true mixed heritage rather than two officially sanctioned pairings.
It feels off to "privilege" two specific species combinations, while neglecting stats for all of the other species mixing.

I strongly prefer species miscibility rules that have an "equitable" approach, that welcomes any species to stat their heritage within their offspring.

Without half species in the SRD, you do not know the baseline to create compatible content for other half species.

This is especially true since the half elf has four ASI compared to three which is included in the backgrounds.

There is no rules in the SRD to explain how you deconvert from a 4 ASI race to a species that uses a 3 ASI background.

THAT IS A COMPATIBILITY PROBLEM.

You may have to exercise a little judgement and creativity as a game designer then.

Sure

But the point of the SRD is to show how the system works.

It's a resource document for the system.

You know what it's not giving me resources: for how to convert a mixed race that previously used a different ASI modeling and weighing system.

It's not my fault that Wizards decided to weigh ASI differently for mixed races compared to full races. So when they converted over from races to species their weighing system is not included in the SRD.

Species miscibility rules should probably resemble Tashas Custom Lineage, with more design space and free access to choose from any of the species traits.

Specy miscibility rules will be nice.

But mainly what I want is the new weighting system for ability scores.

What do I trade for the extra +1 ASI that the half elf gets?

What do I re-weigh for the half orcs increased strength that was additionally weighed harder in 5.1?

I mean if they actually weighed the various ability scores equally in any of their old books, I would have ability to know what the conversion rate of + 1 to X ability score is.

Did the conversion rate what weapons for tools, for weapons, for skills, but not for ability score.

The design space of ability scores is obvious.

1 feat = ability score improvement +2
½ feat = ability score improvement +1

No problem.

In D&D 2024, the species design space standardizes to 1½ feats.

The background and the ability score improvements (+2 +1 or +1 +1 +1) are in addition to this.
