That wasn't my point, but if that's what you read into it, I can see why you would make that statement. My point was that 'the balance' issue is a non-issue to me. Randomness has been a part of the game since the 70s, and unlike some players, I have been playing that long, (yes I'm old and don't make me hit you with my cane), due to that longevity I have seen a track-able trend between balance rules/power gaming and a lack of good consistent role-play.

And not all of my players are awesome, just that one, I have some real knuckle-heads too. :)
 


I feel that randomness in the generation of ability scores should remain a possibility, along with non-randomness. Choice is good.
