You know, if this wasn't Star Wars or Star Wars themed, I might actually be really excited for this.

But, knowing it's supposed to be a Star Wars universe film...it just doesn't jive with me in the right way.

Which is dumb and stupid, I know...but...there it is.

I think that if it were not Star Wars and just advertised as it's own thing, this would be really cool.

Agreed.
The possibility there’s more to their home world than a suburbia however might be an interesting reveal.
Are they part of Hux’s new program to develop better imperials?

So you could either give a long info dump about what Old Republic credits are, or you could use a setting where everyone knows.

If you make a TV show where you make it so only those who are fans can understand what's going on, that's a key to failure.

It doesn't matter if it's in an established universe or not, you still have to do the world building because you cannot just simply expect every veiwer to know the world.

You can have built in cookies and flashes for those who know it, but you have to make it accessible to everyone if you want more than just a few to actually watch and enjoy it.

It is not a film, it is an 8-episode series set at the same time as Mandalorian and the other series, and will be part of the movie finale that ties together all the Mandoverse shows.

Is this how Filoni plans on getting his pair of errant characters back into the Mandoverse from the end of the first season of Ahsoka?

I'm actually sad to hear it's going to tie into The Mandalorian story arc. I was really enjoying the idea that this was going to be it's own thing for once. It's not like the galaxy isn't big enough...not all stories need to intersect :(.

Don’t think it will involve Ashoka or major Mandalorian characters. A couple of X-Wing cops might make a cameo. It “ties in” in the sense that it take place in the same time period and touches on the “rise of the First Order” narrative.

Ah. That's fine, then. The comment above that says it ties in with the Mandalorian finale had me confused.
