Smackdown-Type Question

I would have posted this into Sultan's of Smackdown but the thread is getting somewhat long, so I thought I would ask here.

What is the maximum number of attacks per round that a standard PC race get (read: no Templates or Monsters) without having to be put in a weird situation (read: no Cleave or Whirlwind attack, Expert Tactician is ok)

Its pretty easy to get 8 attacks (Fighter 10/Tempest 10). Haste makes 9. After that I am not sure how farther I can go.

Another avenue I have thought of is various PrC that grant 'Flurry of Blows' type attacks. But would those kinds of abilities stack?

Either way thanks for any responses. :D

You could add a weapon of speed into that mix (while it doesn't "stack" with haste - you CAN take the extra attack if you use your full round action - just can't turn that "extra action" from haste into two attacks) - there's one more

you could use two weapons, possibly even taking the improved two weapon fighting feat. - ther's two more

Dont know the Tempest PrC.

I also don't know if you are counting TWF in the * from this PrC ...

Human Mnk20 Shapechanged into a Marilith
With a Shapechange and a Maximized Tenser's transformation cast into two Rings of Spell Storing from a Sorcerer, it becomes

BAB 24/21/18/15/12/9/6/3

With Multiweapon Fighting, IMWF, and Monk Weapons of speed in each hand the BAB becomes
Main Hand: 20/20/17/14/11/8/5/2/-1
Off Hand1: 20/20/17
Off Hand2: 20/20/17
Off Hand3: 20/20/17
Off Hand4: 20/20/17
Off Hand5: 20/20/17
Off Hand6: 20/20/17
Off Hand7: 20/20/17

Total Attacks: 30

There's also gestalt, a psion power that lets you absorb people into your body and get a number of arms equal to how many the both of you had to begin with (so two humans means 4 arms), and the wild fighting ability of the tribal protector prc (which may stack with flurry of blows, come to think of it...), and multiple weapons of speed which, while explicitly stating they don't stack with haste, may stack with each other (same goes for frenzy ability of frenzied berserker, and other things that grant haste-like effects).

I don't think weapons of speed work quite that way - DM with a vengance. I believe they only give you one extra attack with each weapon on a per round basis.

Now - if you want to go uber smackdown...

The maximized Tenser's T added into the Monk's attack progression means that the 20th level monk starts with a BAB at +25, not +24

This is nine attacks off the base.

Add in one from TWF, another from ITWF, and two more for a monk weapon of speed in each hand.

You could toss in haste - for one more...

That is still 14 attacks... without using a PrC

Now - if you want to get funky... you could shapechange into an ettin - as your hands act independently. Without the feats - but with weapons of speed and haste - this is 22 attacks, unless your GM rules that the "second head" somehow doesn't work. I would - but that is just Me...

Tempest is a PrC that basicly focuses on wielding two weapons. At its high levels you get Supreme Two-Wield or some such, which gives you 3 iteritive attacks with your off-hand. So a 10th level Tempest gets 8 attacks a round from dual wield already.

Also the monk thing is a pretty good idea, with Tenser's Transformation.

Sorry but I do not know what Lion Shields are. What are the stats?

Overall these are some pretty good ideas. I hadn't considered taking advantage of the Monk's better attack progression.
