Smallville 10 20 04 (Spoilers?)

Belen

Legend
I really enjoyed this last Smallville. The kid playing the flash rocked and I liked the story behind everything. It seems like the show has decided to hit its stride again. I thought the first few episodes this season were flat with too many show scenes, although I really loved Lois.

In any event, as long as more shows like last night's are around, then I will be pleased. And it looks like the underlying Kryptonion story will be good.

Anyone else think that the map refers to the Fortress of Solitude?

No doubt. While I wish they had chosen another Allen, I still am glad to see that no matter who holds the Flash mantle, that man remains...the fastest man alive. :)

I still get giddy watching that race and seeing Bart turn around, wave and then BLAM! Gone. That was pure Flash goodness.

I do hope maybe we'll get (some time down the road) a Flash TV series again. The old one was decent...but a new one would be even better. ESPECIALLY if they could get Joss Wheton to direct.

Okay, lets' start a petition...:)

I absolutely loved this episode. I'm a huge fan of the Flash, and I think that they did the character justice (despite mangling his history).

The races were just awesome... I was speechless. First Bart running across water in the first one (I actually turned away for a second and missed most of it :p) and then getting to the farm way before Clark... and the one at the end, that was just perfect. They nailed the Flash. (Also, it was good to see Clark enjoying his powers for once.)

I loved all the Flash in-jokes... like, the fake IDs ("Jay Garrick... Barry Allen... Wally West?"), Bart's crack about coming from the future, and "We could start some kind of club or league." :D

I also appreciated how they made it totally clear that Bart is not a kryptonite freak. I was worried about that.

Looking forward to next week's episode, too. I wonder if this "brain transference" thing is a reference to the Ultra-Humanite from the old-timey Superman comics... I mean, he was Supes's very first foe, and swapped bodies quite a few times.

Did anyone catch the famous "Flash" signature, when Bart left the barn, it was very brief, a nanosecond, wait...come to think of it, it look like a full figure wearing a costume...

Damn...speed force vexes me....

Not being a reader of the Flash comics (but being a fan of the short-lived show) that was very cool. THAT is what I call a quality filler ep. Not a ton of plot to be had but it expanded the scope of the show. Very important when dealing with superheroes.

Rumor has it, is that this was a psuedo-pilot episode for a spin off series for Flash. WB wants another hit TV series like it had with Buffy and Smallville, Birds of Prey was a flop (their own fault for killing it after 13 eps).
