Smallville and Supernatural Renewed- Warning (Spoilers from season finale episodes)

I feel the actress playing Lois (Erica Durance) is not only amazingly gorgeous, not only perfectly cast, but the best Lois that has ever been cast. Durance's chemistry with Welling is just spot on. Love it. Love. It.

I definitely agree. She does look more mature than Chloe or Lana, but I can't see how that's a bad thing. I'm tired of casts that never stop looking like kids in high school. To jump from that to her being "too old" though? Boggles me. If there is a place in this country where all the 40 year old women look like Erica Durance, I'm moving there.

Don't disagree, but she is 28, looks a little older than that, and is playing a character who's supposed to be 21.

Personally, I'm through with Smallville.....since I can't keep up with CW wacky programming.
I gave up on Smallville. Maybe I'm the only who doesn't like feeling like the dog in a game of fake-out fetch.

"Over here, boy, over here! This is the episode something major's going to happen! This is the one you've been waiting for! Here ya go, here ya go...psych! Major changes only happen in season finales and openers, sucker!"

At least Lex is finally being a bad guy, but the show has so long ago waved any claim to creating a legitimate and definitive part of Superman's canon\ that I don't know how anyone can be invested in it as such. Is Clark gonna still be in Smallville when he's in his mid-forties?

Every single one of the "kids" on Smallville is portrayed by an actor older than the character is supposed to be. And to my eyes, NONE of them look their character's ages, although Kreuk (Lana) and Mack (Chloe) are the youngest looking of the bunch.

And, this is standard Hollywood practice for just about every tv show or movie made ever. Can you name a television show set in a high school where all the actors are high school aged?

While its cool for any of us to like or dislike a character or actor for any reason . . . I am just boggled by people who think Erica Durance looks "old". Older than her early twenties, sure . . . but old-looking? Crow's feet?

I kinda hope that Erica hears about this and is devastated that some fans think she looks like an old woman . . . so I can comfort her in her "old" age!!! :)

Nope. And almost every high school show that lasts runs into issues like this, because for one or two parts they cast a mid/late twenties person who can really act instead of a late teens/early twenties person who might still almost look the part in five years. It's a lot easier to play a convincing 20-year-old at 25 than at 30.

I think I've been on the internet too long. My only thought as Chloe cried over Lois was. . .

"Chloe Sullivan's tears can cure cancer. But Chloe Sullivan never cries!"

I personally think that Lois is quite a good fit. Especially if they do end the season with a 'some years later' kind of scene with Clark in his mild mannered reporter guise and Lois in a dress suit. Mmmm.

I've accepted that practice, and honestly, the cast looks more like early 20s now that their past the high school age. But Erica looks 30s to mid 30s whereas Tom looks like he's in his 20s. It's not as much about the age as the look of the character. Lois looks like a 30 year old woman, and it relaly seems out of place considering how old she is suppose to be and the people she hangs out with on the show.

It's what those on FARK refer to as "sharp knees syndrome". :)
