Smallville Preimere: Season 6--9/28/06

When you have Terrance Stamp playing Jor El, some things were delightfully foreseeable. Kneel before Zod.. Now, take my hand.

I ALMOST expected Clark to crush his hand. :D

Only caught the last half of the ep., but it was cool.

I liked it. Have to watch it again before I can reliably comment in a non-fanboy manner.

They left a few of interesting hooks for the rest of the season, especially with the episode's closing shot.

I did like that Clark actually used his brains over his considerable brawn to beat Zod.

"Jor-El sends his regards."

Did everyone mis the setup for the rest of the season? When he escaped the phantom zone it was an area effect that clearly grabbed a bunch of the criminals too.

I think the question would be, "Did anyone miss...?" It was pretty darn obvious, so I sincerely doubt you're the only one who noticed it.

It showed Clark has absolutely no ability to fight anyone near his power level. He didn't duck once while Zod pounded on him and barely got in any punches of his own. When the prisoners find him, it should be interesting to see how he will deal with them. Too bad Fine is gone for good, I think puting him in stasis would have been better.

In the comics, is there any creatures native to the phantom zone?

I thought it was good but they should have kept Clark in the Phantom Zone longer. What we get now is not K-rock freaks but zoners for Clark to deal with.

Maybe my memory's going and they talked about this in last year's finale, but unless I'm forgetting something, why the heck didn't they give Lana a nugget of Kryptonite when she went after Zod/Lex?

Poor Lana, once again KOed so not to see Clark's powers. It was pretty good lots of action, but not much else.
So, how many times can that happen before she starts exhibiting brain damage? I mean, she's been KO'd more times than Leon Sphinx.

I think that's what Donovan Morningfire meant about the closing shot (phantom zooming across the landscape - somewhere very far away from Smallville.)

But it looks like no physical kryptonians escaped, just their "phantoms".

For those who Tivoed it can you go back and look at the scene where Zod is pummeling Clark up against the rock. I could have sworn that a bunch of blood gushed from Tom's mouth in one first few punches.
