Smallville Preimere: Season 6--9/28/06

A better question would be, did he do it by damage type or by rolling damage?

Well, presumably by dint of high damage. 1d3+1,000,000. He can powder rock with his fists, but just gives Clark a bloody lip. If the DR were X/Kryptonian then it would do the full damage amount and powder Clark's head. Instead it just overcomes DR 999,995/-

I'd use M&M a superheroes game though to determine this instead of trying to a fantasy RPG for a super s show:p

Ok so then how many toughness saves did he fail before he decided to use a hero point?

Well that's good, because I was halfway to convincing myself that Megadamage was the way to do this. . . and that was giving me bad Palladium flashbacks.

It showed Clark has absolutely no ability to fight anyone near his power level. He didn't duck once while Zod pounded on him and barely got in any punches of his own. When the prisoners find him, it should be interesting to see how he will deal with them. Too bad Fine is gone for good, I think puting him in stasis would have been better.
Actually, Clark fights very much like your average farm boy would, in that he's not an educated combatant, but rather a straight-forward brawler, relying on sheer brute force as opposed to technique and finesse. Normally Clark vastly outranks his opponents in terms of raw strength and damage absorbtion, but against guys like Lex/Zod, who had equal strength but better combat skills, Clark is gonna get clobbered. And this episode showed it in spades.

M&M would be the better fit for Clark/Superman, since the system is designed to mimic comic book characters and fights to start with. And he probably failed a few toughness saves, since Zod could Power Attack at leisure without endangering his chances to beat Clark's pitiful Defense bonus.

Right now, I'd peg Clark as a PL 12 at best, with massive trade-offs in favor of Damage Save DC and Toughness.

The thing I enjoyed about the episode the most is that it proves clear evidence on why Superman hated Jimmy Olson so much..

Moral of the story, C-block Clark Kent and your life will become miserable.

A very good moral lesson indeed.

Spoiler info blacked out :
It almost seemed for an instant that Clark actually had some genuine feelings for Chloe that surprised him when she kissed at the end of Season 5. And that at the end of this episode...he almost wanted to maybe at least talk to Chloe a bit more about it. But life intervenes and Jimmy is in the picture now....ah too bad Clark, you might've missed your chance.
D00d - it's Smallville. TEH ANGST! :D
