Smashed World, part III

I don't remember what system we agreed on. Should I level him according to 3.0 or 3.5, not that there is much of a difference when it comes to druids.

You can indeed level your characters. You need a day of general downtime, i.e. no fighting, climbing mountains, riding at full speed or casting 'strenuous' spells (generally, normal utility spells are OK, but no casting Fireball or Tenser's Transformation et.al.) if you want to level up during that day.
On the rules, currently we're using 3.0, with 3.5 skills and DR (skill changes including the change from Animal Empathy skill to Wild Empathy class feature).

"I'd appreciate it, thank you", Chendra says. "So, are we ready to go? I want to taste freedom."

Durban

Durban will take a seat and wait for the others to finish equipping.

"Fortunately my needs are minimal, Chendra," he says speaking to their newest recruit. "There are different schools of thought about being prepared for an 'adventure'" - Durban uses the word sarcastically- "but I prefer to try to get by with as little as possible. It makes your options easier to figure out in a pinch. The drawbacks are obvious... you often don't have some simple thing you might really need."

"Of course, you also don't have to tote around nearly as much heavy stuff," he trails off.

Do you want to go to Tim's smithy to see Samantha? Or see some other smith?

"Why don't you have a horse? Wouldn't it be easier to travel, as well as having it carry your stuff? I heard some adventuring groups have dozens of horses so they can carry back the mountains of treasure they find of their journeys!"

"Firewood can be a scarce resource once your out in the wilderness. I say we keep everything we've been given." Lorcan says to Horros as he guides Ceinwen around a slow circuit of the courtyard.

"I think we can, for the moment at least, manage with the few mounts we have to our name. Should we encounter a mountain of treasure, we shall acquire more." He smiles at Chendra's enthusiasm. "But another mule might not go amiss, if only to carry more feed for our mounts. Grazing can be sparse, and a poorly-feed horse is a sad creature. While Horros visits the blacksmith, we could easily acquire these goods."

Horros
You find your way to Samantha's place and fasten your horse to a pole that is at the corner of the smithy. Inside you see that she is currently talking with two dwarves, apparently haggling for the axe one of the dwarves is holding. She smiles as she sees you come in.
A moment passes as they haggle, the dwarves apparently not willing to pay the price she is asking, but in the end they yeald (is that how it's written?). They hand a small sack that looks to be filled with coins to Samantha and then leave, the one carrying the axe giving you a wary glance, as if you were going to steal it from him.
"So, what brings you here? Hopefully not just me", Samantha greets you. She tosses the sack of coins behind a counter without bothering to count them.

Everyone else
You ride around the Coast, looking for somebody who sells mounts and beasts of burden. After a while of searching, you come across one who would seem to have well-bred mules. There aren't many of them, three are visible and the stables reserved for them could hold no more then five. They are being tended to by a burly human. He hasn't noticed you yet.

Horros nods to Samantha when he walks inside the building. As she is clearly busy he waits patiently while checking the inventory again.

When she finally has time for him Horros replies, "Nah, we are just heading out today so I thought of stocking up for a long trip." As if an after thought he adds with a smirk, "Still, I do prefer them tough."

OOC: Horros is looking for cold iron short sword, silver scimitar and heavy flail.
