Sneak Attack & unarmed attack (NOT Monk)

Raflar

First Post
A rogue that does not have improved unarmed attack, punches (hits, kicks or whatever) an opponent and deals out 1d3 points of subdual damage. (+/- str mod)

Can this rogue also deal sneak attack damage (subdual) if he/she meets the sneak attack req?

I ruled yes for now, describing it has a hit to the jaw or kick to the groin (depending on method of the attack)

I'm not looking for feats to make the damage real (I already know about them) I'm just wondering how other people have rule the sneak attack damage in a situation like this.
thanks.

I do it all the time in my current game. I am playing Rogue 8/Assassin 3. Basicly, its the same thing as if I was swinging with a sap (all the damage is subdual). Except my attacks provoke an AoO.

It sometimes is better to knock out your opponent then to kill them outright. Expectially, when its a party member that has been dominated or charmed.

The answer is unequivocally yes. It explicitly says this in the sneak attack section on page 47 of the PH. You can make sneak attacks with a sap or unarmed strike that counts as subdual damage.

DOH!... don't know how I missed that one... thanx.

Here's another really good question. If you, the Rogue, have already taken a 5-foot step this round, and you've already used your hasted action to drink a potion, which is why you didn't use your speed weapon, but you still have a full-attack action left, but you forgot to wear your hat today, you know, the one with the funny duck feather in it that bestows mind blank upon you, and you used your wand of True Strike the previous round, can you still deal Sneak Attack damage?

Please clarify;

1. Are the planets (all) in a alignment?
2. Has the PC eaten Fish in the Last 24 hours?
3. If #2 is yes is that fish a flounder or a Jack-fish?
4. Has the PC been exposed to, or know of by rumour, a tobacco smoker?
5. Is it Tuesday?
6. Are there children present?
7. Is the PC Left handed?
8. Dingo ate baby?
9. Don't read this question because it's not a question, but infact just a statement containing the word 'Question'.
10. See number 2 and confirm.

6. Yes, but they're blind-folded
7. Only when Uranus is in alignment
8. No, baby ate dingo
