So...Armaunator or Pelor?

Isn't "Power of Amaunator" a core cleric ability/feat in the 4e Phb? It's in the Phb lite. Which leads me to believe that he's a core 4e deity.

The characters in the 4e Phb lite are characters from the DDXP preview mods which are set in the Forgotten Realms. They were previews of both 4e and the Living Forgotten Realms campaign.

I will cry big, manly tears of unrestrained retributive rage if Loviator and Ilmater are not present in 4E.

You've been warned.

I'm just glad that Sune appears to be getting the prominence her foxy holiness deserves. I'm sure Loviatar and Ilmater will still be around, but there's a good chance they won't be full fledged deities anymore.

-Well in Richard Baker's new novel The Swordmage which was a great read btw. [SPOILERS AHEAD]
Amaunator has replaced Lathander. He is in his Noon day aspect. The Faith of Amaunator, respects the old Faith of Lathander.

co-existed simultaneously at one point.
Which is how the cycle turns. First one reigns surpreme, then the following aspect emerges and gains prominence until the first one dimishes and vanishes and the new one will then reign surprime for some time until the next-next aspect emerges and the cycle continues

So first it was only Amaunator.

Then it was Amaunator/Jergal

Then it was only Jergal
(And Jergal wisely gave this particular aspect away before the new dawn would emerge to replace his dusk so it became only Myrkul for some time)

Then Myrkul/Lathander entered their phase of co-existence

until only Lathander remained

Just prior to the whole spellplage thing we were nearing the time that the next midday would emerge, which was heavily hinted in supplements and novels.

So what should have followed would have been Lathander and the new midday co-existing. However the 100 year jumps seems to let us skip that and we directly go to the phase when onyl the midday aspects remains (until the inviteable rise of the next dusk aspect)

Which is a shame, because Lathander and Amaunator co-existing in the Realms would've been pretty damn awesome. Oh well.

Even by the standards of geekdom, you are playing fast and loose with the word 'awesome'...

;)

I'm trying to figure out why the second most worshiped god in all of Faerun who was the very avatar of neutral good decided to become the dead and forgotten lawful neutral "Follow the law, peasant!" god.

And you know, I really can't figure that out at all.

Honestly, this is another very sharply irritating factor for me, as I loved Lathander. He was probably one of my favorite gods to be a priest for. And now he's just arbitrarily erased for seemingly no reason.
