D&D 5E So, did Pendleton Ward help with TFYP?

Well...TftYP is going to have guidelines for putting all seven adventures in at least four settings (Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Dragonlance and Eberron).

So, the Chult thing really could be a reference to TftYP, rather than any near future AP.

I don't, and here's why.

* Hero, the last book by Salvatore, specifically calls out Acerack as having a plan involving a mirror that traps souls for him to devour; something NOT discussed in the original ToH. This is where "Acerack in Chult" is discussed. It was important enough that it had to be referenced in the final Drizzt novel.
* Dungeonology spends time on Acerack and the ToH (including a reference to its original location on GH) but spends little time on, say, White Plume Mountain or the Sunless Citadel. It also specifically mentions the barrier "thinning" between the two worlds, something I don't think TotYP is going to be able to go into with any detail.

As an extra point of note: Artus Cimber is known to be a famous adventurer who spent his time... in Chult.

It is all too specific. If Dungeonology had gone over all the TotYP modules or Hero referenced King Snurre or Blackrazor, I'd argue you'd probably be right. However, I think the big Summer/Fall AP is going to be focused on Acerack, Chult, Cimber, and the Ring of Winter. Else, WotC is spending a lot of capital just to place 1/7th of the book in one specific area on Faerun. That is a lot of work for what is effectively an one-paragraph appendix reference.

Unless...season 6 of AL involves a sort of adventurer "Gold Rush" to Chult, with Tomb of Horrors itself being a clincher for Organized Play.

I mean, you may just as well be right; they have G1-3 right after Sky King's Thunder? We'll find out over the course of the year, I reckon.

Also, the Artus Cimber angle has to do with the Sky King's Thunder material for Neverwinter, which is about the Ring of Winter?

From the description of the latest expansion for Neverwinter:

"The Story Thus Far…

To recap our story, Artus Cimber has pinpointed the location of the Ring of Winter at Svardborg, the lair of Jarl Storvald in the Sea of Moving Ice. It seems an impossible task, but with the fate of the world on the line, an attempt must be made to punch through the giant's defenses and recover this ancient artifact."
