...so how was Valentines Day?

When I was in highschool, I knew the proper response to "Happy Valentine's Day!"

But Eric's grandmother prevents me from typing it here.

If my sweetheart didn't live 250 miles away, my Valentine's day woulda been better. As it is, we're delaying festivities until this weekend.

Pretty awful. As it usually is, and has been for the past few years.

On Valentine's Day, lonely single people should be allowed to pelt happy couples with rotten fruit. Plus we should be the ones who get chocolate. Not the people in love. We need it more. They're already in a state of euphoria, so who cares about THEM?

And what did I get this year? Some sugar-free chocolates (I HATE sugar-free chocolate - well, s-f dark chocolate is pretty good, but s-f milk chocolate SUCKS) and ten bucks. From my parents.

Went to the local game store before class. Treated myself to a couple d20 books, the most recent issues of KODT and PvP, and a 12-pack of giant double-sided graph paper sheets.

Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve are my two least favorite holidays. I get too damn lonely.

Well, not having a GF, I'd kind of planned to wallow in self-pity, but I guess I'm just not that upset over it. Instead, a friend called me needing some sympathy over the sad state of HER love life.

Then I watched Collateral Damage, which really didn't do much for me. I think Arnie's days as the king of action movies are long gone. Long live Jet Li!

My girlfriend of the past 5+ years spent her Valentine's Day in Chicago and I spent it here in St. Louis. Hip hip hooray for long-distance relationships...

Valentines Day (or what I refer to as VD ) is the worst
Frigen day of the year...

It is so blatently commercialised that all real meaning for the day
is gone...much like Easter and Christmas (although i do still enjoy those days as it does still have some religious significance and the getting together with family is special...

But VD is just to make money...

must go and spend all my money on Flowers and Chocolates and Presents and Dinner and CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP!

The above might sound a little jaded with all this 'LOVE' (bleh i need to wash out my mouth and disinfect my fingers ) but seriously i would rather give a girl things throughout the year (to show that she's special) than to fall for the commercial hype and pressure of doing the whole VD thing...

Forget it, i have kicked girls to the curb for demanding i do things on that god awful day and i will continue to do so...

How was my day? It was great. It be hard for it to be better:

* I sailed through my calculus test

* I became captain of my school's science bowl team

* A girl i like asked if i wanted to go to a concert with her (her uncle had some spare tickets)

* Stanford emailed me saying they'd like me to skip the regular entrance methods and just enroll in a special, selective, extra-ciricular study course thing (i.e. college level classes through the internet during the school year, summer classes at stanford during the summer, etc...)

So, basically my day was great!

Oh, wait, today was valentine's day? That _would_ explain all the red. hmm... j/k

As I high school student, I can tell you the true meaning of Valentine's Day.

CANDY!

My day went something along the lines of

8:00-Got candy.
8:00-10:25 Eat Candy.
11:10- Sugar Crash, broke nose on desk falling asleep during bio.
12:00- Lunch, more sugar.
2:40- Secondary sugar crash, broke nose again in Spanish.
3:30-School ends, go to Robotics Club (If you're in robotics then you don't have a GF anyway).
3:35-Find out we don't have a robot because the president is sick and he took it home last night.
3:40-6:40-Tie 200 little knots to build the parts of the robot we can.
8:00-Go home, do f***ing math homework.
9:30-Finish math, post on ENboards.
9:45-Third sugar crash, break collarbone falling off computer chair.
