I do't think that's an appropriate use of a semi-colon.
I'd post articles on the use of a semi-colon but I think they'd only end up supporting you. So instead, without a shred of evidence, I shall just disparage your understanding of grammar in the hopes that you will go away for it is better to win the argument by being the last poster standing that to be right!
Seriously though, I've read about the use of a semi-colon but never seem to really get a grip on it. I'll often just throw one in and hope it works.

It's a bit rough around the edges, but it's not toxic by a longshot. I earned my posting chops on a different board that was as strictly moderated as humanly possible, so while people get away with stuff here that does rub me the wrong way occasionally, most folk are civil and seem to promote worthwhile discussion. The topics definitely revolve more around strict rules debate than discussion of actual gameplay or roleplaying, but that's cool by me, helps me keep myself sharp at the table since I'm my groups DM.
Plus, like, look at this thread... people here have a damn fine sense of humor.
