Sometimes, It feels good to be a writer.

It is great to see stuff you've written in print and to be justifiably proud of your stuff.

I still like occasionally pulling out and re-reading stuff I've written in gaming books.

Professionally as an editor and journalist I write too much and have too much to do to stay on top of my work to re-read my day job writing except for when I'm actually using the material, although I get that sense of pride when I look up a story or legal headnote for reference use in a new story and realize oh yeah, I wrote that and did a good job at it.

Whenever I re-read the stuff I've written, I wonder how on earth I managed to do it the first time without sucking too hard. And then I worry if I can do it again for the next writing assignment!

Cheers,
Cam

Well, I'm not a writer, but I can identify with the feeling(though my art isn't published anywhere...maybe one day, though!).

A couple of days ago I went through a pile of old sketches that had been under my desk just sitting there. Some of them were surprisingly good, despite the fact that I know how much I've improved since then. In fact, I've gone through and finished up a few of them that were just sitting around and waiting for the right time.
