SOMEWHAT OT: Silver Age Sentinels

For some reason I could not load that web preview.

Out of curiosity generated by this thread, I bought the fast play rules. Didn't read it yet, but because of the comments regarding it being beautiful on this thread, I thought I'd peek inside. Now I know this is not the actual book, but is the actual book anything like the fast play? Just wondering because I saw nothing especially beautiful about the layout or formatting of that.

Do you have the Adobe Acrobat viewer?

I don't know the first thing about the fast-play rules, but I can tell you that the book being discussed is the Deluxe Edition of the rules, with full-color art throughout. If you could get a glimpse of that preview, you'd see. It has fake covers from the origin-issue comics introducing the heroes, etc.

The fast play rules do this game a serious injustice by failing to show any of the features of the system that make it unique or worthwile...

I recommend sitting in your game store for as long as you can with a copy.

Read the chapters on how to play a hero, and how to GM a super game.

Then read the game mechanics chapter

the read character design and while doing so make a quick jumpt to the defects section to note the 'less capable' defect that lets you have more than just the 3 base stats. You don't need to read it in detail, just be aware of it to read later.
