Sorcerer Ideas

First Post
I have a 12th level human sorcerer. High Charisma, Evocation, pretty much a blaster. Im playing in the greyhawk realms, in the city of Greyhawk and surrounding areas (mostly ruins).

Any was when we get into greyhawk there isn't much for me to do. So I was wondering if any one could give me some ideas.

Besides shopping for scrolls and wands, how about gather information? It could lead to new story arcs, character development, and who knows what? I have found that my character usually have the most interesting things happen to them in town.

Sorcerers get Bluff, you could tell lies just for fun? Why not pick up some different spells, though? As a blaster, you only need so many rays, so many area blasts, so many targeted selections, so many melee touch spells (if any), your "fallback can't fails" like magic Missile, etc... If you're relying on all your spells known for covering all the elements, you should've just played a Warmage. A sorcerer can just take the strongest spells of a given level (often fire), and use the feat (and/or metamagic rods of) Energy Substitution.

5 - construct elaborate relationship maps of everyone you meet
6 - attend all the parties you can get into (helps with #5) ;)
7 - make money casting cantrips (detect poison, detect magic, prestidigitation, and the ever-popular cheat if you have it.)

Often being in Towns or Cities is an excellent opportunity to roleplay. While their are mechanics for resolving roleplaying situation, that doesn't mean that you cant roleplay if you do not have the skill. Make your face life a nightmare, get falling down drunk, etc. Do what ever would make sense for your character skills be damned.

Stealing an idea from an Eberron sourcebook, you should look for improved material components. Like if you add magenta phosphorus to your fire spells they get a free empower effect, or adding cypress to your adjuration spells gives a free extend. Obviously these components are expensive and hard to find, but as a sorcerer they come in very handy and you are maybe in a place populous enough (or arcane enough) to find someone who could teach you about them.
