There's a certain irony in this, given that the whole GH "thing" is supposed to be the way that it is open to play, and to adaptation in play.
Well, I want to be fair here...that is what he is focused on in regards to lore. I'm not talking like Forgotten Realms Wiki fetishism of lore, but diving in on how the original Greyhawk set-up can facilitate Gygaxian AD&D gameplay. He has written some great stuff about how to handle the Temple of Elemental Evil, for instance.

So, knowing that the 2024 DMG is going to feature Greyhawk as an example setting, I’m starting to play around with the idea of running a 2024 campaign there. I know basically nothing about the setting, [snip] so if anyone could point me to any good resources, either for information about the Greyhawk setting itself, or for running a campaign set in it.

I maintain a list of useful Greyhawk Resources on my Greyhawk Links page at grodog's Favorite Greyhawk Links although it’s likely in need of an update again to highlight new resources.

I’m particularly interested in the idea of a highly site-based (as opposed to event-based) sandbox game featuring a many dungeons from classic modules as adventure sites the PCs might be able to visit.

I catalogue my favorite adventures in my blog at These are a few of my favorite things... and many (but not all!) of those are set in Greyhawk.

You can also check out the adventures map on Canonfire! at Canonfire! - Content and in map form at Canonfire! (using Anna Meyers fabulous maps from 576CY EasyZoom - Anna B. Meyer).

I also outline some top-level reasons why Greyhawk is still relevant and fun in a blog post at Why Greyhawk in 2023? - grodog's Thoughts that may be useful.

Those help?

Allan.
