I remember hearing a tale about how the use of eggs in easter came around, something like an egg hunt, and it started in germany I think. It might have been christians in the woods, I can't remember. Does anyone know about this?

p.s if this comes under religious talk (which is not allowed?) I'm sorry, delete/report this thread ok? :o

The Irish Goddess Easter once turned a chicken into a bunny and the bunny went about laying colored eggs for the childern to find. there you have it from a Pagan standpoint.

Christians: "We don't like pagans one bit. Their holidays and customs on the other hand, we shall keep for our own."

Actually suposedly they liked easter because it was the same time as pass over, escape the romans, anglo saxon god of spring eoster, but no story about the germans and hidding eggs!

Well, Christians celebrate Easter as the birth of Christ, but obviously the whole myth about eggs, and bunny rabbits, that's got nothing to do with Christ. Just like yule logs, mistletoe, and decorating trees and putting them in our houses has absolutely nothing to do with the death of Christ.

If you type "history of easter eggs" into google, you'll get all the answers you need. Damn, I love technology.

Since that's set, I'll close this. :)
