Don't displacer beasts get a miss chance rather than a bonus to AC? That's what we should go for here, too.
I also think we did distance distortion but can't remember where.

Agreed. A quick check of other "displacer" creatures indicates the same.
Hmm...no luck finding it so far.![]()
If I recall correctly, in AD&D they had a 100% miss chance for the first attack, and an AC bonus for subsequent attacks.
Maybe we're getting it mixed up with the debate we had about the Artist Genie's duodimension power/spell?
I think giving it a big racial bonus against detect lies is about right, but I'm ok with flat out giving them immunity to the spell. Actually, that kind of immunity appeals more and more.
Not exactly sure what to do with delude, since the detect alignment spells work differently in 3.X, too. Maybe simplify to immunity to those spells, too?
I'll agree about shadow conjuration and shades, but I really like the idea of needing to Will save to believe rathter than disbelieve. I think we should go full out and convert the spell 'cause it's so cool.

Illusion (Glamer)
Level: Brd 2, Sor/Wiz 2
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One creature or object, up to a 10-ft. cube in size
Duration: 1 hour/level
Saving Throw: None or Will negates; see text
Spell Resistance: No
By means of this spell, you misdirect the information from divination spells that reveal auras (detect evil, detect magic, discern lies, and the like). On casting the spell, you choose another object within range. For the duration of the spell, the subject of misdirection is detected as if it were the other object. (Neither the subject nor the other object gets a saving throw against this effect.) Detection spells provide information based on the second object rather than on the actual target of the detection unless the caster of the detection succeeds on a Will save. For instance, you could make yourself detect as a tree if one were within range at casting: not evil, not lying, not magical, neutral in alignment, and so forth. This spell does not affect other types of divination magic (augury, detect thoughts, clairaudience/clairvoyance, and the like).

Perfect Liar (Ex): A deceiver genie is such a convincing liar that it is immune to discern lies and similar effects. Additionally, its alignment cannot be determined by any magical means short of a wish or miracle.
