Actually, she appeared at the end of season 2.

3. What was the process of Wes' "coolification?" He showed signs of becoming a tougher character during the first season, but he's hardcore now.

Edit: Oh, and where did Fred come from? My God, she's cute.

Actually, Wes's coolification happened over time.. but his darkification (ie, I'm a badass, so there's no need to shave anymore) happened when Wes misread a prophecy which said Angel would kill his own infant son. Wes took the kid and got tricked, the kid (Conner) got stolen and taken to a hell dimension. Wes got his throat slit.. and then to make matters worse, Angel blamed him for the whole thing and tried to smother him with a pillow. That really made him dark, and therefore, cool.

Edit: Oh, and where did Fred come from? My God, she's cute.

Long story short, Fred was a librarian who read a magic tomb and got sucked into another dimension... Lorne's home dimension, where humans are seen as cattle. Angel and Co. rescued her and brought her back.

technically not true. Wes read the prophecy right, it's just that the prophecy was false. so planted by some other demon who flitted back through time (... "flitted in a manly way" ... that still cracks me up lol) either coz he hated Angel ... or he just wanted to trick Angel into freeing him ... or something.

All good. You actually had me for a minute until I remembered that her plot was tied into the whole Pylea thing.

And since I couldn't watch Angel on Wednesday (basketball game pre-empted the show) I caught the re-airing Saturday @ 9 (thank GOD my TiVo remembered for me!). So it's even a shorter wait for me. I really can't wait to see how this story pans out and connects to Buffy. Too bad we don't have any new Buffy for a few weeks...
