Well, metagaming wise, there were rumors of a Faith show being offered and turned down, so if the scripts are already written, she most likely survives.
More like "meta-viewing" but I get the point. As for just knowing that that info about a Faith spinoff, it doesn't change the fact that Joss has a habit of throwing curveballs at the fans. If it weren't for spoilers and news of the show I doubt many of us would be able to predict his storylines. It's one of the things that keeps me coming back and why I really try to stay away from news of the his shows. Sometimes its impossible, tho...

He's also not above just killing her because she turned down the show offer :)

So, it's still up in the air.

That's speculation about turning down any offer for a spinoff. Eliza Dushku had already signed on to another show before being offered the spinoff according any news out there (unless something new has popped up recently that I have missed).

And shooting for any eps that will be airing in the next 10 weeks is probably done and the storylines were already completed. Plus, why would he kill off a character for a reason like that? Most of the fans would love to see her live on in the Buffyverse.

But anyway, I'm quite certain that I'll be entertained no matter what Joss decides to throw at us. :)

True John. I really don't see Joss being...well that vindicitive over someone choosing not to do what he says. (Aaron Sorkin is a different fish but that's just me.)

(Btw what TV show did she sign on for?! You'll know I'll watch it. ;) )

We should also note that Joss is not beyond putting out false rumors. The whole Faith Spinoff show rumor could fairly easily be a false rumor supported by fan conjecture. That would leave us in the position of thinking, "Well, he cannot kill her, because he was thinking of a Faith Spinoff at the time this was written..."

One of the big rumors out there was that Dawn would be the next Slayer in the Spinoff. That one seems to be false. So we can't bet any money based on the rumors of spinoffs...

Yet another brain child of Fox's...great. Well I can't say I'll be thrilled about the premise, but hey if Eliza is in it, I'll give it a shot. My other inner demon says "Fail! Fail! Fail!" But that's me.

Umb, maybe but I don't just don't see. Even before the whole "Faith gets her own show." I wouldn't and still don't see Joss killing off Faith just to keep things from settling down.

Agreed. Joss and Mutant Enemy like to throw people off by hinting and just dropping a few "tidbits" here and there. There is such little reliable media out there on what they do behind closed doors that it's almost impossible to determine what has been said or done about a spinoff considering that SMG just recently announced she was not returning. I'm sure Joss has been planning on it for a little while now but there are only so many decisions he can make when he doesn't have any concrete answers.

Just look at what happened with Firefly. I'm sure he planned on having that go for at least a full season and now that it isn't we get what is happening now (which is being discussed in other threads and I will not repeat here). Right now, I'll be sitting back and enjoying these last eps of this season for Angel and getting ready for the series finale of Buffy. I don't see Joss holding anything back for either one and it should be quite entertaining. :D

not really.
the fact that she appears in episodes after she "dies" doesn't mean a thing. she could show up undead, as a ghost, as the first, as a dream, a hallucination, a fond memory, and any one of the dozen ideas that Joss could come up with that my pathetic imagination couldn't compare to :D

for the record tho, i don't think that she'll bite it. i just like stirring up trouble :p
