SPYCRAFT : Blood Money (Medecin Sans Frontière)

-''Actually, no. Doctor Gournay isn't part of the lab staff and never has been, he's over there with TB patients (she points toward a tent). Do you know him?''

[OOC: Bluff 5 + 2, sense motive 5 + 4 and 20 (kim, AD?). Luddite can't read Lana's expression.

Kim realizes that she's quite sharp and that the oddness of Luddite's question hasn't escaped her; how come you know the name but not the job?

If he's an acquaintance, you'd know he didn't work at the lab. If you simply read the reports you'd never have heard the name as he has nothing to do with the labs or the report. She's quite puzzled.]

Luddite looks at his notes...(assuming I have the correct name). Oh, balst me and my awful hand writing. My mother said I would make an excellent Doctor. However she though I was going to become a MD, not just a PhD. I misread my annontations. Luddite gives the right name. No, while I was in New York last, Dr. Beaujolais said I should say hello to his firend Dr. Gournay, if I got the chance.

I'd still like to take a look at the Lab, when it would be possible.

She smiles radiantly.

-''Yes! Oh, I miss it so much. You don't know it until you leave it behind, but Montreal is a wonderful city. Where did you study?''

Kim smiles back...

"Wow... I thought I recognized the accent... me.. well... I didn't study in Quebec I went up there from UCLA to stay with family I have in Montreal over the summer I did some self-study... trying to pick up French... still working at it... I dabble in linguistics somewhat... My French is pretty horrid though... not as good as my Latin... or Arabaic or Japanese. I find it somewhat helpful for the different areas I travel to for the Red Cross..."

Kim fixes his glasses...

"But Montreal was a lovely city... I have some good memories... good times... never a dull moment... always wanted to go back... but you knw how work can go... and I admit you never know until you miss it... but I found it was the people that made Montreal so special."

Kim smiles despite himself... then glances to Luddite...

"Yeah... his handwriting is pretty atrocious... chicken scratches... barely legible..."

OOC: Spending an Action Die and bluffing me arse if possible he will mention any sights he can recall from his studies of Montreal... or cursory knowledge at least...

[OOC: Kim, the problem isn't your bluff. You're still riding on that bluff skill checks I made earlier.

She believed you when you said you spent time working in Montreal and, as human nature would have it, is keen to talk some more about it. The problem is that, unless a few pages are missing from your background, Kim hasn't spent a year in Montreal and I have no reason to believe your character has sufficient knowledge of the city to fool a native Montrealer into believing he's familiar with the city.

I don't know what Kim could say in order to gracefully backpedal from this topic and at least temporarily ward off further questions and I'm guessing that neither do you. But presumably Kim is able to quickly think of something that will do the trick and that's what your action die will represent in this instance.

You spend the die, come up with something very clever that can remain undescribed and Lana isn't going to press you further on the Montreal topic for the moment.]

[OOC Ok guys, Lana keep you touring the camp. I'm pretty much waiting to see if you are going to make a move. Without interference from your part, you are going to wind up back in her office, talk some more, read statistics, watch videos, eat supper together at the canteen and finally visit the labs around 1900. Just fast forward to wherever you want to go next.]

[ OOC: Right now, keep the cover going. Also keep an eye on various security proceedures. ]

Will Doctor Gournay be taking a break for dinner at the same time, I would like to pass along Dr. Beaujolais's greeting. But it can wait till he is not as busy.

[ OOC: Was there any mention if either Gournay or Beaujolais owe the other money? Or are they mostly even in their poker playing? ]

-''Well, I think he should. And I suppose he could make time for the friend of a friend''

She doesn't seem to relish the idea of spending an evening with Doctor Gournay.

[OOC: Sense motive 11 + 4, see the text in italics.

So shall we move on the the supper or is there something else you want to do/try before then?]

[ OOC: I am fine to move on to dinner...
I Take it that Lana does not care for the company Dr Gournay, or his actions with his free time. So I think I will let Kim entertain Lana this evening while I see about starting a friendly game of poker with Dr. Gournay for the evening.

How far away is the MSF Camp from the Goody Lodge?

Durring dinner or just before, I will excuse myself to the latrine. I will then prep the Audio and Visual Bug with the Digital Memory. I want to be able to sneak it into the Lab and set it up. I will arrange with Kim to attract Lana (and whose ever else will be there) so I could descretely set up the bug durring the tour.

My though would be let it record for a day then retreive it the following night. ]

[OOC: Luddite, I forgot to answer some questions; They do not play for significant amount of money against each other. When they were in Atlantic City, though, they regularly played together to swindle oponnents, or so their mail would imply (nothing overt). Of course it's illegal and you presume they were hjoining the same game separately and didn't ackowledge each other. If you saw the movie Rounders you probably se what I mean.

MSF camp is half an hour from the goody lodge at a leisurely pace. Both are located a few miles outside Binga proper.

Tokiwong, is your cover a priest or not? Can't remember or find the post.

Will wait for Tokiwong to post at least once before doing the supper scene.]

OOC: Well I was going to go for a priest but I guess student will do... that is the best for now... and yeah lets move on to dinner as well... too lecherous to be a priest

Kim pauses moving the subject to more work related issues as far as the TB goes as he looks to the cafetieria/canteen...

"Well how about this... how about we" he waves to Lana and himself, "Enjoy a nice quiet meal and we can go over some details about the situation here that I have some questions about, while my colleague has his friendly chat with Dr. Gournay."

Kim gently fixes his glases and smiles to Lana.

"Besides I don't relish an evening supper of statistics and nostalgia... I like to relax some... if only to reflect on the events of the day..."

Kim opens the flap/door for Lana...

"So what do you say to a nice quiet supper Miss Gautheir while we allow the two friends to chat. No reason to intrude I say," he smiles gently, "lets just relax some and plan out the day for tommorow."

OOC: Use Innuendo +8 to infer that the best way to to not spend an evening with Dr. Gournay is to just split up... trying to get her to come with Kim leaving Luddite to do some footwork and talk with Dr. Gournay

Tokiwong's cell phone starts to ring. "Hey Kim, Kareem. How's everything going at the clinic? Need me yet?

"Yeah, Alex is talking to a guard at the gate. Might be trouble."
